Bagpipes and the creation of new innovative highland bagpipe music influenced by the Celtic / Scottish bagpipe tradtion is the specialty of Scott Cawthon, one of five Cawthon bagpipe artisans.
Donald and Jock MacLellan, Scottish immigrants and family friends first introduced him and his four brothers to playing the bagpipe during the 1960’s. He began taking bagpipe lessons from Donald MacLellan at the ripe old age of 8. H also had tutoring from local bagpipe instructors Nelson Frew and John Goodenow.

Scott performed for the Killinger Clan and other persons this past week at the Frostrian Court Assisted Living community in Flushing, Michigan. He played a variety of bagpipe music for their enjoyment.

Returning from big Skye country. A grand performance by Scott Cawton and hosted by the Skye Clan was an overwheleming success. Scott performed many different types of bagpipe music while Cindy Skye demonstated some highland dancing.
